WHY SHOULD I VOLUNTEER?
People volunteer with us for a wide range of reasons. The primary purpose is to support disaster-stricken families through repacking/production of food/non-food relief items. It's also an opportunity to get involved in your local community, learn new skills, improve yourself, build your confidence and meet new people.
WHAT CAN I DO?
Volunteering with us can be challenging but very rewarding too. You could assist in repacking, warehousing, and quality control. You could also perform valuable support roles, such as driving, administration or event volunteering.
HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED?
You can volunteer for a minimum of four hours a day every Monday to Saturday for regular operations or Monday to Sunday during disaster operations suvject to declaration of emergency by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). Some organizations ask for a particular commitment from their volunteers while others are able to take a more flexible approach.
WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
For most of our volunteering roles you don't need to have any particular skills other than enthusiasm, a willingness to get involved and a heart to serve. If any specific skills are needed we will outline them in the role description.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
It's very easy: All you need to do is
click the register button
to sign up and search for volunteering schedules.
I AM DISABLED. CAN I STILL VOLUNTEER?
Yes. If you think you have a condition or handicap that might make it a challenge for you to volunteer, call us on
553 9864
and have a chat with the Capacity Building and Volunteer Management Section personnel about your needs. We can advise on which of our activities are accessible, and make sure that the personnel at your chosen project do their best to ensure you can volunteer the way you want to.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE SCHEDULE THAT I HAVE BOOKED TO VOLUNTEER?
Emergencies happen anytime. Should you wish to cancel reservation, please do this at least three days before your schedule or else you will be tagged as “no show”. The system will automatically block users to log-in if they have been tagged as no show thrice
CAN I GET A CERTIFICATE IN MY VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITIES?
We value our volunteers as you helped us in delivering our services to the community. Certificates are given upon request and the level of award is depending upon the time spent in volunteering.
CAN I APPLY IF I’M UNDER THE AGE OF 18?
We can only allow minors from age 15-17 provided they have the consent and accompanied by their parent/legal guardian. If part of a school activity, they must be accompanied by their teacher or accountable adult from the school.
