The National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau [NRLMB] is responsible in facilitating, receiving, warehousing, processing, production/packing/repacking and releasing donated and procured food and non-food items including the family food packs as allocated by the Disaster Response Management Bureau [DRMB]. In line with this, NRLMB also handles the supervision and management of volunteers and other personnel that serve as workforce augmentation in the National Resource Operations Center (NROC), disaster response centers (DRCs), and other production hubs that maybe established during disaster relief operation.
The efficiency of work in NRLMB is highly dependent on the availability of sufficient volunteers. The work done in NROC, DRCs, and other production hubs during the entire disaster preparedness and response phase is significant to the success of disaster operations. A greater number of volunteers are necessary in times of disaster to ensure that Family Food Packs (FFPs) and other kits intended for the immediate relief of disaster-stricken families are processed efficiently and delivered without delay.
The Volunteer Management System (VMS) is the enhancement of the current manual system of recruiting, management and monitoring of volunteers and workforce augmenters in NROC. As a result of several business process reviews and assessments and consultation with NRLMB, the system will be utilized to manage the end-to-end core processes of the Capacity Building and Volunteer Management Section (CBVMS).
This further contributes to the overall operations of the department and on how other agencies, local government units, non-government organizations, and other partners will be unified in this program.
